Corrections Policy
This is emergency-adjacent information, so we take accuracy seriously. Here is exactly what happens when you report incorrect or outdated information.
Step 1
Report submitted
A visitor uses “Report Incorrect Information” on any station, city, region, country or emergency-number page.
Step 2
Pending review
The report is stored with a status of “pending”. It never changes any live data automatically.
Step 3
Verified against a source
A reviewer checks the suggested correction against an official source before anything changes.
Step 4
Data updated
Only after verification does a maintainer update the underlying listing, with the correction report kept as an audit record.
What we ask for
When you report an issue, you choose what's wrong from a list (an incorrect phone number, a closed station, a wrong map location, and so on) and tell us what the correct information should be. An official source URL is optional but helps us verify faster. An email address is optional and is only used if we need to ask a clarifying question — it is never shown publicly and is not required to submit a report.
What we never do
- We never apply a submitted correction automatically. Every report enters a review queue first.
- We never remove or mark a station closed based on a single unverified report.
- We never merge listings automatically from a duplicate-listing report.
- We never publish a suggested new station without independently verifying it.
- We never display a submitted email address publicly.
Abuse prevention
Reports are rate-limited per submitter and checked for obvious automated/bot submissions. Identical reports about the same issue are grouped together rather than duplicated, so reporting something that's already been flagged still helps — it confirms the existing report rather than creating noise.
This process is for correcting directory listings only. If you are in immediate danger, contact the official emergency service for your location — do not use this website or its correction form.
